Several days ago I used SharpKeys to swap my CTRL and CAPS LOCK keys. It said that as soon as I restart or log-off/log-on I would see the change.

I had almost forgotten about it.

Then last night I shut down my computer instead of putting it to sleep. This morning (after enduring several minutes of waiting for Windows to launch applications) I tried to open a new tab in my browser.

ctrl-T
ctrl-T
nothing
ctrl-T
What the?
I looked at my keyboard and the caps-lock light was on.

Oh! Yeah! I re-mapped the keys!

This is going to take some getting-used-to - but, I rarely use the caps-lock key, so I didn’t realize what a prime location it has. Think about it - on the right side of the “home-row” of most keyboards is the ENTER key. Why would we put such a rarely-used key as caps-lock in the same place on the left?

Anyway - I think I’m going to like it. And I think my metacarpals will thank me for it by the end of the day.

UPDATE
Yes - this is going to take some getting-used-to.
